Fear challenge

Fear is just our brain protecting us, trying to keep us safe. However, fear also stops us from LIVING. Although, I am a guide, coach, leader in helping others work through their fears to pursue their passions…does not mean that I do not have my own fears. I have fears of posting this and being judged or not accepted. The truth is, we will always have fears. But, what will set us apart from others is that we still go forward despite our fears. That we do not let our fears govern our life. Instead, we accept and embrace our fears, acknowledging them for protecting us and getting us to where we are now. In reality, we must accept our fear as part of our life, just like every other emotion-negative or positive. It is in accepting ourselves, in our entirety, where we find the truth growth.
So, this past week I entered a ‘Friend your Fear’ challenge with The Fear Guy, Ben Harris, for 21-days. My fear is posting on social media. I posted four times thus far. Which is honestly more than I have ever posted within that timeframe. So, technically I failed my challenge I set for myself. But what I learned was that the more you show up and hold the fear with you, the more the fear will dissipate. This challenge also confirmed that everything is just energy and exchange of energy. The posts that were ‘successful’ with more likes, were genuine and I was proud of them. When I went to post them, I FELT happy. The post that did poorly…well, it was rushed and forced, despite the content being good. Main takeaway so far—do what feels good to you, with fear right by your side as your friend. So, for the next 21 days-will you friend your fear?
