ASTROLOGICAL PLACEMENTS
Moon Phases
So powerful they control the ocean’s & women’s currents
I have always been fascinated by Astrology. In middle school, I would go to Books & Co. and gather all the Astrology books I could find and read for hours. Back then, I mainly read about myself, an Aries Sun. As a 13-year-old girl, I thirsted for knowledge and acceptance of who I was. I never felt understood, let alone accepted, so I was shocked that these books knew me so well. How could this be?
As I grew up, more people would judge my belief in the stars and I slowly started to suppress them for fear of not being accepted. Not until my self-healing journey did I fully dive back in. By then, there was the importance of the BIG THREE: the placement of your sun, your moon, & your rising sign. mind blown—if I thought I was understood by my sun sign before, now I was completely cradled by the Universe.
Not only did my Aries Sun resonate, but my Libra Moon and Taurus rising explained my connection to the Earth, the finer things in life, having a keen aesthetic eye, my draw to the legal field, and my desire to always be in a relationship. These placements once again helped me understand myself further, including the shadow sides of these placements. Hence the desire to always be in a relationship, to always put others first in hopes for harmony. My codependency was not only learned via nurture, but also by nature. & this was just a blip into my personal reading.
Of course, then, when I learned the moon’s nodes moved into Aries/Libra…I knew I was in for Earth-shattering changes. Not only do I have an Aries sun and Libra moon, but my North node is in Aries and my South node is in Libra. The Moon’s nodes stay in place for 18 months and this placement had not happened in 18 years. What does this mean for all of us? Aries being the trailblazing, eager-eyed baby of the zodiac, the collective is heading in that direction—getting shit done, with no excuses. Libra, as the people pleasing, relationship-seeking (sorry Libras) sign—as a collective we are choosing ourselves versus others.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that there are other factors that make us who we are: nature vs. nurture, etc. But, this has become a tried and true science for me overtime. Every year, I reflect back on the astrological predictions THAT CAME TRUE and utilize the future astrological movements to plan my year ahead. Hello, mercury retrograde. Also…riddle me this: if the earth’s moon controls the tides of the entire ocean on earth, then why wouldn’t the planets effect our tiny meatsuit bodies?
